About
A 120-hour training program designed to provide basic training for a nurse aide to function in a nursing home or health care facility, improve the quality of care, and to increase the positive perception of the nursing assistant. Working closely with patients, you are responsible for basic care services such as bathing, grooming and feeding patients, assisting nurses with medical equipment, and checking patient vital signs. CNAs give patients important social and emotional support and also provide vital information on patient conditions to nurses. It is the intention of this program to motivate learning, encourage career development, and provide necessary skills for job opportunities. The conceptual framework of the Nurse Aide Training Program is centered on the federal and state regulations mandated by the Tennessee Department of Health. This program provides both clinical and classroom hours and prepares the student to sit for state certification testing.
